Thanks for the kudos!
Yes I suppose 1997 *is* old school now, eh? Maybe for a laugh I should upload a few of my electronic music tracks from 1987... (Everything I made then I did on my friend's TR505 and Ensoniq ESQ1 heee!) That would be a fun thread to start: "Upload the First Track you Ever Made". Holy embarrassment.
I'd love to update this song, but my equipment has changed so much since then I imagine it would be real tough to ressurect it. I still have the arrangement (since I'm using logic now, and was using logic back then) but at that point I was using a hardware sampler instead of the EXS24 inside of logic. I sort of cringe when I think about the process of trying to convert AKAI MESA files into EXS24 .exs files...
However what might be fun is just to do a new piece using those samples I pulled from My Dinner With Andre:

Nice Amen arrangement on this and lush deep bass lines the overall sound takes me back... nice job. (1997 is DEFO oldskool now...I struggled with that one for a while too, we are old man)
I think we should definitely entertain a thread for uploading everyone's 'First Ever Tune'. That would be fun :)
We could all cringe together haha |
