You'll need to convert the aiff files to wav. files. A good program for this is made by a company called NCH. Google them and download the software, (there's a free trail) they also make an excellent wav. editing program called WAVEPAD. It's also available as a free trail download on their site. Once your desired files are in wav. format, all you have to do is open a new SAMPLER channel, click on its icon in the step sequencer, click the button with a little folder in it, and chose LOAD SAMPLE. That's all it should take. If you have any problems reply to this message and I'll do my best to help.

| thanks for the help got the trial wavepad works like a charm and have gotten the samples in but is it possible to slow down and keep pitch or make a sample flow better with a track by splitting it up in FL or would i have to make a bunch of samples all of one word? |

To answer the first question, yes. Samples can be sped up or slowed down using Wavepad. Once you have the sample trimmed the way you like it, right click it, scroll down to effects, and select "change tempo". It uses a percentage equation to alter tempo so you might have to fool around a bit to find the exact speed you need. When I use a sample in a beat, I trim it using wavepad until it loops smoothly. The I load it into FL and use the piano roll to speed up or slow down. Doing this changes the pitch though, so keep that in mind. Check out my beats at: www.myspace.com/dennessey
