As far as Rewire goes, I haven't used it, but if you want an easy way to make the percussion (kicks, snares, hi-hats) sound richer, I have a tip. Go to your step sequencer. Using the right click on your mouse, highlight all your drum tracks. Next, left click on the FX (mixing board), which is located near the SS (step sequencer) button. With the mixer in view, left click on the channel located to the right of MASTER The mixer track you clicked on should become highlighted. Then, left click the button in the far upper left corner that looks like two slider bars. Doing this will open a window with various options such as disk recording, view, ect. Highlight the words LINK SELECTED CHANNELS, doing this will open yet another window with two options: TO THIS TRACK and STARTING FROM THIS TRACK. You want to chose the first of the two. Now, the mixer track you highlighted earlier should now be labeled: kick, snare, or whatever the first instrument chosen from the step sequencer was. Next you have to choose an effect for those instruments. Do this by clickng the first upside-down triangle button left of the mixer. These are labeled in numerical order from 1 to 8. That should open a window giving you the chance to select various effects, or FX. There are over 25 to chose from, but the one you want is called the FRUITY COMPRESSOR. Select the said effect and a new interface should appear with different knobs and information relating to those knobs. DO NOT TOUCH THE KNOBS. Instead, click on the little <> buttons. Every time you click you should notice a dramatic change in the tone and velocity of your percussion. With 20 presets to chose from, you should find one that's just right. (I like the COMPLETE MIX setting for drums) This FX also works well with many other instruments too. I hope this can be of some help to you. If you knew this stuff already, I just wasted a shitload of time. Oh well, Happy Producing.
Peace. _________________ "Secured on my square, in a five-pointed stance" |
