its kinda hard to get what your saying. the art of sampling varies but starts with you may or may not be able to make on your own. so u sample from life records friends drinking and so on. anything can be sampled some shyt costs tho. i sample from records of all types especially spainish music. depending on your equipment u can sample phrases chop em up find what ur looking for then move on to the next beat. if ur anal as i am you'll further manipulate that sample until ur pressing rewind constantly to some infectious sound. its trail and error. if u got a cheap record player or external sampler or some software like sony sound forge, FL studio or Live ur heading in the right direction. start with some records that u like. its easier cuz u sample the sounds subconsciously and will pick out dope shyt easier... peace

If u got limewire or some other music sharing program just search "motown". Randomly select a couple of the results you get, listen to them, and if there is a funky part that you think is sample worthy, loop it. It's basically trial and error.
