| Well no will know that, (probably not even Canton) because its all to do with making a deal with whoever sponcers it. Usually it would be an adverting deal or something in return for a prize or prizes. The last competition had some pretty great prizes and if he ever managed to pull off another compo like that, then count e well and truly in! :) |

Believe it or not, it's not the sponsorship that holds things up. Companies seemed fairly happy to give away software as it meant exposure to then 40,000 (now 50,000!) members.
Rather, it just takes a huge amount of time for me to listen to all the entries! For the next contest I was thinking about putting together a jury -- which would also make it a little less dictatorial :) -- but that would be best acheived by my writing yet even more software for this site...
Anyway, stay tuned, and just keep making great music! |

If getting prizes is not a problem, how about a prize for the best judged song in each genre. it must be quite difficult to compare Drum & Bass with Ambient etc. especially if neither catagories are your particular bag. There could be a seperate judge for each catagory or combined catagories.

Before i started reading this comment, i thought "why not just have the members chose the best tunes?"Just have a Poll thingy.I also agree about the whole "Different genre" thing.

Great idea, i just found this site (great site by the way) and noticed about the comps, getting the folks here to vote for them's a great idea, obviously 1 vote per person per track to avoid any 'hate voting'......
when is the next competition?..... ;¬)
