My friends telling me, "FL is an odskull... try this programe to produce best music than before!!" and Im confuse that I can't operate it without some tutor, what do you think about this 2 programs?? if u can help me thats could be awesome!!!

The Reason Vs FL Studio debate will probably go on as long as the programs go on and probably after they are not even in development! lol FL has just as good quality sound as Reason and vice versa, i say its whatever you feel comfortable with. I use FL but i have also used Reason and both are very good at what they do and what you can achieve with them so like i said before, just go with what you feel comfortable with. Check out youtube for tutorials on both DAWs, there are plenty of vids there to get you going and to find out what you need to know.

i've used both but at this point I'd prefer Reason. FL has a few features that I wish Reason offered, but for the most part I think Reason is much more slick and the sound quality is higher off the bat. I've never been able to get sounds exactly how I want them to sound with FL (I am admittedly an amateur).

Yes.. I am an amateur!! but my friend telling me that REASON is easier than FL, is that true?? I'm a beat maker of HipHop Sound... and I should to explore
my music more.. REASON could help me??

you should definitely try Reason over FL, if only for the easy effect sequencing and drum sequencing, both of which are clunky in FL (from my experience). Hell, you should try it just in case you find your own reason for liking it. I mean, you should probably start with a cracked version in case you totally hate it.

Actually, FL has far better drum sequencing over Reason! I mean FL has evolved around a step sequencer which was primarily a drum sequencer and it still even has the same layout from the beginning. You can throw together a drumloop in FL way faster than you could in Reason! In Reason you have to mess with Redrum loading each sample or you could use Dr Rex to cut out your drums. In FL its as simple as listening to the drum sound you like and loading it into a channel. Thats way you can have multiple layers of drums going by the time you even loaded some drum samples into Redrum or Dr Rex! lol

Seriously tho this is just another FL Vs Reason debate and like i said in my previous post just stick with what your comfortable using be it FL Or Reason. If you ask me tho like i just pointed out, FL has far better drum sequencing.

i guess i can't really weigh in completely since the version of FL i have is only from 2003. So i'm sure they've updated it considerably from then.

If you managed to learn FL without any help, you'll learn Reason without any help also.

since this discussion appears to be going on, i thought i might add something as well...

to me, reason is a studio i dreamed of when i was a kid, though it was all much bigger in my dreams - now it fits in a laptop...:)

reason is a rack full of great synths and effects very alike the real ones i was used to and all of that in unlimited number!... well, limited by your imagination and the speed of your processor... its sequencer follows the same logic as most of sequencers i ever used (let's say, since the atari version of cubase), so it was easy to master... drum machine is programmed as a drum machine should be, though you can do it through the sequencer or record it in real time... samplers work perfectly and synths are very inspiring... and you may rewire your rack in unlimited number of ways, interconnect instruments, use cv controls to create filters and synthesys and play with sounds as much as you like... it is a great tool !!!

i guess you've noticed that i really like reason...:)

the first music program i ever got my hands on was fl, never heard of other one, so cant vouch for it. but i know fl is a good program. unfortunatly my computer has problems running it... :( i use audacity, it is a good free multi-track recording program.

p4 or equivalent processor, 1GB ram, a bit over 2GB of free space on your hard drive and a compatible midi/usb/whatever keyboard controller if you like to play your notes... it's not that much nowadays...:)

i hope you were not thinking to use your old 486 to make music, weren't you?
