I mainly use Pro Tools for recording instruments and finishing mixes, I use reason as a vst. I also use Logic and Fruity Loops for more electronic music, i guess it depends on the song im writing at the time

Just Audacity for me - I love open source software.

Disappointing to not see it make the list.

I used to use Acid Pro 4.0F then switched over to Ableton Live 3.02 and have upgraded to 6.07 at this point with the EIC, Sampler, Operator as well as investing in Native Instruments products. Live is a rather interesting piece of software if you ask me, and I don't know the half of what can be done under the hood with the latest version!

Where are the tracker options?

I use Jeskola Buzz for a lot of experimenting, it's awesome but a bit buggy and development to the core has stopped, however clones and similar software are starting to appear like Aldrin, BUZZle, Psycle etc.

Win98 rig; (I know... but needed for Korg OASYS PCI soundcard :S)
Buzz, Cubase, Reason, Audacity, Csound, Pd....

Linux rig;
Buzz (in wine), Audacity, Rezound, Rosegarden, Ardour, Csound, Pd.... could go on for ages.

I use a Korg Triton too.

Hello, props to all producers and music lovers out there. I allready ticked Ableton Live, but i started with Tracker software in my Spectrum 48k, back in the days, and just beeping...

Then i learned to play keys, but soon moved to percussion instruments like berimbau, atabaque, djembé, pandeiro, reco-reco and so on.

About 4 years ago i discovered Fruity Loops, and thought it was very intuitive and began at it, even made my friends get hooked up on FL Studio. I tried to make the switch to Reason, but something inside of me resisted, and then i found Ableton Live...

Man, i just play for the kick of it, and with Ableton, i get a afternoon full of fun just plain playing and experimentating...

I learn a lot from all u guys and girls...

peace

Brilliant SITE......I feel kind of sorry for myself.....I should Have run across this Forum SOONER.

As far as what I use...... Ableton primarily, but there is always room for another D.A.W. or two. I still use FL studio a bit. I've always found Nuendo useful for the final cut.

ANYWAY GREAT TO BE HERE!!!

I use Reason and Abelton Live rewired into Nuendo, with various VSTs ranging from Native Instruments, Discovery and few other companies. I use an Edirol PCR-M30 Midi Controller and am currently concentrating on 5.1 technology and mixing.

it's fruity loops, not frooty lol xD !

btw: i use

as software: - FL Studio 7 XXL with lots of VST's and VSTi's (For ex: Z3ta+, Crystal, Albino, V-Station, Vanguard, ...)
- Audacity

as hardware: - A computer

- Casio C-22

And sometimes samples ( fx, percussion, bass, pads..) but I change/edit 90% of the samples because I prefer to use my own stuff.
I never use drum loops...

[Cheers to BamBam for putting that much money in his music bussiness!!!]

bugs are ok, people too.. if they're not moving (dead).. and are on the floor, then i dont think they would mind being eaten.. but i dont think its healthy, and it will leave a mess on the floor..
