Anyone fancy this?
Swap mp3 files via email and after adding and remixing send back.
Needs individual files for each instrument....4/8/16/32 bars or whatever to build up the track/s.
just for fun and see what results. _________________ http://www.sampleswap.org/artist/jimdubtrix |

*Sigh*. Reminds me of the old days. See:

"Rocket Network" (originally Res Rocket Surfer) was my Big Project before SampleSwap.org.
It worked. It really, really worked. You could launch Logic/protools/cubase and actually collaborate -- in real time -- with folks all over the world.
re-sigh.
Anyhow, I promise not to grumble about how much more fun it is to collaborate in real-time using your favorite audio application; and will happily create FTP folders/accounts/etc. for folks seriously interested in collaborating here. Truth be told, sampleswap.org was always intended just to hook you all with free samples, but then lead us to internet radio, collaboration, and maybe doing a record label.
It might be worth looking through other non-realtime collaboration efforts, for example:

Hey just poking around found this site and tried it out. Pretty great!
http://Kompoz.com
Track based, 100% web based no FTP or anything. Nice elegant interface. Not sure what I think about collaborating using mp3s and such but... |

Wow! That's really cool. I spent 20 of the last 23 years living in a tipi (got a house now), with no electric so been out of the loop, only just discovered wot u can do with these dream machines (DAWs).
Dreadzone are a fave band and I play a lot of their stuff at gigs (www.dubpram.co.uk) still quite timeless and very playable. They are on the road in the UK this summer.
With regards swapping i woz just thinking of doing it in a very simple way... share some files...remix...share again etc. But it would be great to have a folder where peeps could listen to the collaborations, join in etc.
Thanx for the links Kompoz looks real good and I've signed up. _________________ http://www.sampleswap.org/artist/jimdubtrix |

| Umm, they have nothing for ambient, dark ambient, industrial/darkwave from what I could see so it's pretty useless to me till I learn to play guitar worth a pile of beans. |
