| Again thanks for your comments. Must say this tune is there my man. Love the phat bass. It's not about winning it's about putting your talent out there and getting heard. Looking forward to sampleswap radio station. |

Thanx Jacques. I put quite a few hours into this track, so i'm glad someone left a reply.
You said you wanted this vocal track, so go to Acapellas4U.co.uk, make 1 forum post (just say hello) and you're free to download this vocal track (though its been cut up for this track) and hundreds of others.
This isn't a bump - honest... :) |

| cool track. that gritty bass synth sound makes me wanna get up and dance. I also like the use of the timpani. Overall a well produced track. Keep up the good work and thanks for the nice comments. Peace. |

Agreed -- love that bass sound. Have heard lots of songs with bass sounds that fell flat -- this one cuts through the mix, is original, and still has a nice bottom to it.
Generally, nice production too.
What's the story behind the vocal? You use it well here; do you know where it comes from originally?
The mix is a little overcompressed for my tastes -- the high end ends up being a little overwhelming when limited/compressed that much. Also I think the ending is a little weak. The string sound is kinda cheesy compared with the rest of the song, and the chord progression isn't as epic as the rest of the song. |

The vocals are taken from a Lisa Stansfield song called "people hold on" which i think was released sometime in tha 80's. I didn't think the whole vocal track suited the mood of the track, so some sections have been cut out. (download the untouched vocaltrack at Acapellas4u).
I have also done a hell of a lot of chopping and pitch-shifting on the vocal to try and make it a bit more interesting, as i didn't actually like the original song that much.
I think the reason i did this remix was because the section "give a little light, give a little love" was used in some of my favourite underground rave tracks of the early 90's.
As for the strings, well i would have loved to make them more epic and complex but i dont have a midi keyboard and have to type the notes in with a mouse, which makes things a bit fiddly.
Also, the string sounds in reason are not the best available. Thats why i put a sweeping filter on them.
Actually, this is the song which pushed my 1 gig processor to it's absolute limit, so i'm glad people like it.
Thanx. |

I think this would do well too. This is the track i'm most proud of and i honestly thought, if any of my tracks were gonna win it would be this one.
But then i did read somewhere, Canton saying tracks with full-on vocals wouldn't fare too well in this comp.
This track has actually been through about 5 versions by the way. |
