Our policy is to require that members only upload original sounds that they are giving up into the public domain, but there's no way for us to be sure that 100% of the sounds on this site are free and clear from any copyright restrictions. Use your best judgement, and rock out at your own risk.

The majority of the sounds on this site are 16-bit 44khz AIFF format sounds. AIFF is very similar to WAV, and most programs that can read one file type can read the other. If your software can't deal with AIFF or WAV files, do a quick google search for 'free software convert aif wav' and you'll find a ton of stuff that can save from one format to the other.
