Hey, many of these are ".aif" samples. What are those? Do you have any ".wav" samples?
Many of the sounds in this collection are 16-bit 44khz AIFF format sounds. AIFF is fundamentally identical to WAV, and most professional audio programs will read either file type equally well. If your software can't deal with AIFF files, do a quick google search for 'free software convert aif wav' and you'll find a ton of stuff that can save from one format to the other.
At the time of this writing "Switch" was a very popular free sound converter for windows & Mac:
Some AIFF samples include embedded meta data (e.g. Apple Loops transient markers) but software that does not support this meta data will discard it without complaint.
